Salted Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients: 

  • 1 stick of softened butter
  • ¾ cup of sugar
  • ¾ cup of light brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 ½ teaspoons of salt
  • 6 oz of milk chocolate
  • 6 oz of dark chocolate

 

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325°
  2. Chop the milk and dark chocolate into random sized pieces
  3. In a medium bowl combine the flour, baking soda, and 1 teaspoon of salt
  4. In the bowl of an electric mixer, cream the butter, sugar, and brown sugar
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add the vanilla and mix
  6. Mix in the flour mixture until just combined 
  7. Stir in the milk and dark chocolate
  8. Scoop the cookie dough into 2 tablespoon balls and place on a baking sheet
  9. Sprinkle with the remaining ½ teaspoon of salt
  10. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are golden brown

 

Sugar Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ sticks of softened butter
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 2 ½ cups of flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • 1 ¼ cups of powdered sugar
  • 3-4 tablespoons of milk

Directions:

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and salt
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each audition. Mix in the vanilla
  4. Slowly add the flour mixture until just combined
  5. Chill the dough in the fridge for 1 hour or overnight
  6. Preheat oven to 400°
  7. Roll the cookie dough on a floured surface until it is ½in thick
  8. Cut cookies into shapes with cookie cutters
  9. Place on a baking sheet about 1in apart
  10. Bake for 6-8 minutes, or until the edges start to turn golden brown 

 

  1. To make the glaze, mix the milk and powdered sugar in a bowl until smooth
  2. Separate and color the glaze as you wish then decorate your cookies as you wish

 

Snickerdoodles

Ingredients:

  • 2 ¼ cups of flour
  • 2 teaspoons of cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • 2 sticks of softened butter
  • 1 ½ cups & and 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon of cinnamon

 

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt
  3. Cream the butter and 1 ½ cups of sugar until combined
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each audition. Mix in the vanilla extract
  5. Slowly add the flour mixture, and mix until combined
  6. Chill the dough in the fridge for 1 hour or overnight
  7. In a small bowl, mix together the remaining sugar and cinnamon
  8. Roll the dough into 1 ½in balls, then roll them in the cinnamon sugar to coat
  9. Place onto baking sheets 2in apart
  10. Bake for 9-11 minutes

 

Orange Almond Biscotti

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups of flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons of baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon of salt
  • ½ cup of cornmeal
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 orange, zested
  • 1 stick of softened butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 ½ teaspoons of almond extract
  • ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup of sliced almonds

 

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and cornmeal
  3. In the bowl of a mixer, mix the sugar and orange zest together
  4. Add the butter, and mix until light and fluffy
  5. Mix in the eggs one at a time, and beat until incorporated 
  6. Add the almond and vanilla extracts
  7. Stir in the flour mixture
  8. Add the almonds and mix until just combined
  9. Separate the dough into two logs, and flatten until they are 1 ½ inches tall
  10. Bake for 15 minutes and cool for 
  11. Cut into ¾in. pieces and lay them down, so the flat sides are up
  12. Bake for 15 more minutes, or until the edges are golden brown
  13. Cool and enjoy
