Salted Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1 stick of softened butter
- ¾ cup of sugar
- ¾ cup of light brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 2 cups of flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 ½ teaspoons of salt
- 6 oz of milk chocolate
- 6 oz of dark chocolate
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 325°
- Chop the milk and dark chocolate into random sized pieces
- In a medium bowl combine the flour, baking soda, and 1 teaspoon of salt
- In the bowl of an electric mixer, cream the butter, sugar, and brown sugar
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add the vanilla and mix
- Mix in the flour mixture until just combined
- Stir in the milk and dark chocolate
- Scoop the cookie dough into 2 tablespoon balls and place on a baking sheet
- Sprinkle with the remaining ½ teaspoon of salt
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are golden brown
Sugar Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ sticks of softened butter
- 1 cup of sugar
- 2 eggs
- ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 2 ½ cups of flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- 1 ¼ cups of powdered sugar
- 3-4 tablespoons of milk
Directions:
- In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and salt
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each audition. Mix in the vanilla
- Slowly add the flour mixture until just combined
- Chill the dough in the fridge for 1 hour or overnight
- Preheat oven to 400°
- Roll the cookie dough on a floured surface until it is ½in thick
- Cut cookies into shapes with cookie cutters
- Place on a baking sheet about 1in apart
- Bake for 6-8 minutes, or until the edges start to turn golden brown
- To make the glaze, mix the milk and powdered sugar in a bowl until smooth
- Separate and color the glaze as you wish then decorate your cookies as you wish
Snickerdoodles
Ingredients:
- 2 ¼ cups of flour
- 2 teaspoons of cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- 2 sticks of softened butter
- 1 ½ cups & and 3 tablespoons of sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375°
- In a medium bowl, combine the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt
- Cream the butter and 1 ½ cups of sugar until combined
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each audition. Mix in the vanilla extract
- Slowly add the flour mixture, and mix until combined
- Chill the dough in the fridge for 1 hour or overnight
- In a small bowl, mix together the remaining sugar and cinnamon
- Roll the dough into 1 ½in balls, then roll them in the cinnamon sugar to coat
- Place onto baking sheets 2in apart
- Bake for 9-11 minutes
Orange Almond Biscotti
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups of flour
- 1 ½ teaspoons of baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon of salt
- ½ cup of cornmeal
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 orange, zested
- 1 stick of softened butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 ½ teaspoons of almond extract
- ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract
- ¾ cup of sliced almonds
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350°
- In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and cornmeal
- In the bowl of a mixer, mix the sugar and orange zest together
- Add the butter, and mix until light and fluffy
- Mix in the eggs one at a time, and beat until incorporated
- Add the almond and vanilla extracts
- Stir in the flour mixture
- Add the almonds and mix until just combined
- Separate the dough into two logs, and flatten until they are 1 ½ inches tall
- Bake for 15 minutes and cool for
- Cut into ¾in. pieces and lay them down, so the flat sides are up
- Bake for 15 more minutes, or until the edges are golden brown
- Cool and enjoy
