As the final exams are coming to an end, and the skies seem to clear, we are faced with a brand new challenge: Summer ‘24. Some consider it a side quest, some consider it a holy time, I however consider it an amazing article opportunity. If you find yourself scrambling to find something to do with your friends, this is the article for you. I too, have before sat on the closing hours of school wondering how to celebrate the finishing of such a marathon. But fear not, because these are no ordinary suggestions like your “Kennywood” or “Pool Party” yearly extravaganzas. These are 3 UNIQUE ways to celebrate summer.
1. Go visit the mystical GetGo!
Because I know that all of the well-behaved students of Winchester Thurston have never ventured to the GetGo during the school day due to our rapidly growing minds and knack for h-block studying. However, what better time to take this long-awaited trip than the moment that we are released? I myself have never been brave enough to make the journey of course, but legend has it that the glimmering red building is filled with rows upon rows of anything a teenager could ever want! From week old roller hot dogs to sour patch gum, GetGo has it all. Boy oh boy is this exciting!
2. Practice wizardry?
Staff not included. What more exciting than learning a new skill this summer! All you need is a cloak and you’re set to go! Practice your spell casting to impress all of your summer flings, and dont forget to ask the chemistry teachers about any special potions. Sure, this might not be your TYPICAL summer festivity, but as Ms Buehler said at morning meeting we must keep our brains active during this long unbearable separation from our beloved davis center. DM Voices instagram with any of your Wizardry outfits or activities!
3. Go to a woods in search of bigfoot…
The mythical creature that has had the world in a chokehold with its strangely large footprints (hence the name). Entire movies dedicated to its mystery, what better way to spend your summer then to finally find this furry beast! If you turn to be triumphant in this search, we shall all carry you above our heads as we chant huzzah for your work well done, and will then proceed to have a feast in your honor with our pitchforks left at the door. Forget the book reading contest, this is the real prize you want. I wish you luck on your quest! Word has it that Bigfoot can be found June 8th at The Smiling Moose…
