Bears, the weather is warming up and you know what that means: spring break is just around the corner! While some people look forward to jetsetting to places such as the Caribbean, Florida, and San Diego, not everyone has such plans. Many people are looking forward to simply entering a two-week couch potato era. However, I encourage you to look around and take in the beauty of this fabulous city! Here are some ideas to make spring break your best staycation ever:
Go hiking!
No matter where in the city you live, I guarantee you there is a park or a trail near your house. Pittsburgh has beautiful parks like Schenley, Frick, Pointe State, Highland, and so much more! So get outside! (I take no responsibility for sudden downpours on your hikes).
Go to a museum!
Whether you want to see dinosaurs and experience science, gaze at art, or re-live semi-formal, Pittsburgh has so many museums you can explore!

Go see a show!
I might be slightly biased having performed there a time or two, but the Benedum is a beautiful building that has great performances. Over spring break, an opera called Madama Butterfly will be shown at the Benedum!
Go to the festival!
Market Square is hosting a series of festivals over the next few weekends! There will be several fun shows, including a fire show!
Check out the Youth Open Studio!
The Warhol Museum’s teen space will be open on Wednesdays over spring break, where you can do crafts including ink, printing and photoshop!
Enjoy your spring break, and go bears!
A suggestion from the Editors: We’re sure your friends wouldn’t mind if you also spent the break baking them some spring-inspired sweet treets.
