Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning
Release Date: May 23rd, 2025
Only last year, we witnessed 62 year old renowned actor Tom Cruise, aka Ethan Hunt, jump off a cliff on a motorcycle and parachute onto a train to retrieve pieces of a missing key just before the train crashed into a river. Of course, this was on a movie screen.
But according to the Los Angeles Times, Cruise actually did perform part of this stunt. Only after repeating his act six times along with 500 hours of skydiving training did Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning finally come together.
And now, after that movie, packed with stunts, drastic fight scenes, and technological concepts, Tom Cruise and his teammates decided to finish the mission portrayed in the first part with part two, The Final Reckoning.
Like the other Mission Impossible movies, that date all the way back to the first film being released in 1996, The Final Reckoning will again feature Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt, Hayley Atwell as Grace, Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell, Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, Esai Morales as Gabriel, and Vanessa Kirby as Alanna Mitsopolis.
How to Train Your Dragon
Release Date: June 13th, 2025
When I was little, I would watch all of the How to Train Your Dragon movies with my brother. We would see each one in the theater and then come home and watch it again and again and again. The story that seemed as if it never ended was so entertaining, especially seeing Toothless and Hiccup’s character dynamics evolve, along with other side characters like Astrid and Hiccup’s mom that quickly became favorites.
Along with the movies, there was also a TV series that went on for seasons. This series focused on a specific plot for each episode that centered around the group of dragon riders. This was a show that my brother and I watched over and over and never stopped laughing.
For a while, there was a pause in the release of films that centered around Hiccup and his friends. But now, Universal is producing a new How to Train Your Dragon film. The best part – it’s live action.
In this new film, here are some notable characters and who they are being played by: Mason Thames as Hiccup, Nico Parker as Astrid, Gerard Butler as Stoick (Hiccup’s father), Julian Dennison as Fishlegs, Gabriel Howell as Snotlout Bronwyn James as Ruffnut, and Harry Trevaldwyn as Tuffnut.
Snow White
Release Date: March 21st, 2025
In the past, we have seen Disney transform classic animated films into live action movies. Some examples include Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and The Little Mermaid. And now, Disney has decided to gift us with another classic fairy tale, Snow White.
Some reviews create controversy about having a Latina actress play Snow White. Other complaints include whether the plot actually follows the original movie, which to some is insulting to the classic. Despite this, the show is still being released next week in the UK and the US.
In this new live action film, Rachel Zegler is Snow White, Gal Gadot is The Evil Queen, Andrew Burnap is Jonathan, and Ansu Kabia is The Huntsman.
