The Ghost of Ernest Garcia
There has recently been some paranormal activity in the science wing of our school. Many students have allegedly seen Mr. Garcia’s ghost in the Physics, Biology and Chemistry labs, as well as in the hallway after school. Students claim that the ghost has been turning the lights off and on and knocking things over, which has scared many. Students and faculty have also reported that they have seen objects floating around the hallway, and many members of the Winchester Thurston community have become quite scared after seeing this happen in our own school.
This paranormal activity has caused much confusion and chaos. As a writer and one of the head editors of Voices, it soon became clear to me that I was the only one who could figure out what the ghost was doing here and how to get him to leave our school. So, one day I stayed late after school and sat in the science wing until I saw something unusual. The halls became foggy, as Mr. Garcia’s ghost entered. I tried to reason with him, but the ghost did not listen. He simply went into the physics room and knocked things over and threw things. I asked him to please tell me what he needed, for he was causing chaos in the school. So, he told me that after leaving WT, he had many sleepless nights and many restless, unhappy days. When I asked him why, he said that it was because he could no longer get the Voices newspaper, and that he passed away from Voices Newspaper Withdrawal (otherwise known as VNW.) He said that he was looking for the newspapers and that’s why he had been causing so much chaos. I quickly wiped the tears from my eyes and told him that the reason he could not find any newspapers was because Voices was now online for most of the year. I gave him the website, and he smiled and thanked me. It made me happy knowing he did not have to suffer any longer. I guess you could call me a hero, but remember, you said it, not me.
