It is a new season in the Premier League, and with the new season, there are new promoted teams. These newly promoted teams are Fulham, Wolves, and Cardiff City. At the moment that I am writing this, Fulham are rock bottom of the league with only one win and two draws from 12  games, meaning that they have only managed to gain 5 points. Cardiff is doing slightly better, but still in the relegation zone in 18th place. They have managed to scrape 2 wins and 2 draws meaning that they have 8 points total. Wolves however, is doing much better than expected. With a Portuguese takeover in the summer, they were able to bring in many upcoming stars and win the Championship. With these new stars, they have managed to find themselves in 11th place with 4 wins, 4 draws, and 4 losses. This is also due to the fact that they have been able to top teams that have been in the Premier League for a while.

On the opposite end of the Premier League, we have the title challengers. These teams, at the moment, include Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham. The teams have 32, 30, 28 and 27 points respectively. The current leaders, Manchester City, also won the league last year with a whopping total of 100 points. Since they also play really nice, attacking but possession football, they are again the favorites to win the league this year. It is also no surprise that Liverpool and Chelsea are very close behind City because of the way they play. Liverpool has recently been playing Heavy Metal Football, which is a term coined by the current Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp. This play style incorporates heavy and high pressing, quick passing, and a hard work rate.

Chelsea have a different style of play under new manager, Maurizio Sarri. Sarri plays with a high line, presses aggressively as soon as possession is lost, dominates the ball and looks to play attacking, adventurous, progressive pass-and-move football. The combination of quick and short passes saw the rise of a term called Sarri-ball to describe the way the team plays. This is much like playing tiki-taka, but rather than focusing on moving the ball side to side, you have to move the ball up the field. They do not possess the ball just for the sake of keeping the ball, but rather they possess the ball to move the defending team around and find gaps in the defence.

As a final thought, my prediction to win the league this year is Chelsea, just because of their enthralling style of play, and ability of the manager to keep his cool and be able to overcome the big teams.
