Winchester Thurston recently announced an expansion that will change our lives forever. The Davis Center will include a brand new arts wing in what was once the Gentlemen’s club next to GetGo.
Amidst growing concerns for the precedence given to the arts at WT, the new plan includes a space for every artist to thrive. With already included commodities such as a dance studio, professional sound system, lighting fit for Broadway, and a kitchen and bar, students will be able to explore their passions in ways never experienced at WT before.
Not only is this great for the already established arts programs at WT, it also allows for more programs to emerge. Some new classes that will be housed in this new expansion include cooking, costume design, public speaking, and yoga.
Students are thrilled about administration’s decision to finally prioritize the arts at WT. Surely WT will be producing some leaders in our entertainment and arts industry after this expansion that defies our dated confines of classroom learning. The building will be ready for learning in the fall of 2025.
Go Bears!
