This past week, Sabrina Carpenter visited the PPG Paints Arena to perform an amazing show in front of thousands of people.
From scream-singing sentimental songs off of “Emails I Can’t Send,” effortlessly remembering all the lyrics to her catchy songs off Short and Sweet, and awaiting which songs she’d play off her new album, Man’s Best Friend, these elements pieced together a memorable night.
Her stage presence captivated large crowds, including us, really making the night way too short and especially sweet. In this article, we will be giving our honest review on the Short and Sweet tour, as people who saw the concert on day one (Leah Krifcher) and day two (Kate Huang).
A Review of The Openers (Day One and Day Two)
The night started off with Amber Mark. Despite not knowing her music, I immediately loved all of it. Her songs were not only catchy, but had that same energetic pop feel as Sabrina Carpenter’s. Some of her songs were jazzy, others very pop, creating a great way to begin the night.
Next to take the stage was another captivating singer, Olivia Dean, all the way from London. Her stage presence was very impressive, from her stunning dress, to her hair and vocals. You could tell she was passionate about her work. Though most notably known for her song “Man I Need,” my personal favorite performance was “So Easy (To Fall In Love)”.
Aside from Olivia Dean’s well-known songs, each and every song she performed, regardless of whether I knew them or not, were catchy and automatic favorites. Specifically, when “Let Alone The One You Loved” started playing, I immediately whipped out my phone and frantically searched the lyrics on Spotify, adding it to half my playlists. That says as much as it needs to about her performance.

Day One of the Short and Sweet Tour
Finally, the moment everyone had been waiting for: 9:00 PM. The arena darkened, and everyone knew it was time. Crowds stood up. The stadium roared with enthusiasm. On the loudspeaker, “I’m Coming Out” by Diana Ross began playing. The initials “SC” appeared on the big screens, accompanied by a small heart that began to grow until it filled the entire screen with scarlet.
The whole concert was set up like a retro talk show. As our anticipation grew, the big screens played a short clip, introducing us to “The Short n’ Sweet Show.” The large projector screen then went up, revealing the house set of the stage. And finally, Sabrina Carpenter. She ran onto the stage, wrapped up in a towel. And as per tradition, she revealed beneath it a black leopard bodysuit with a sheer black cape, a brand new edition to her collection. Once again, everyone was cheering. It was all so exhilarating. She began to sing “Taste,” one of her many hits from the album Short and Sweet.
The night of October 23rd was also the first time Sabrina Carpenter performed several songs from her new album Man’s Best Friend. This included “Manchild,” “Tears,” and my personal favorite, “House Tour,” which had really fun energy during the concert. “House Tour” evoked the connection of girlhood.
Even though I wasn’t on the stage, I felt like I was a part of the party as all of the girls ran from the catwalk towards the house and rummaged through Sabrina’s closet. On top of that, our surprise song was “Nobody’s Son.” From a combination of its first live performance and the element of surprise, this one in particular got us all excited.
Day Two of the Short and Sweet Tour

Similarly, my night began the same as Leah’s– from anticipating the countdown until 9 pm, to severely damaging my vocal chords when the stage was finally uncovered. Contrarily, Sabrina Carpenter was not wearing a leopard bodysuit; tonight, it was a lilac bodysuit, making her look like a live-action version of Rapunzel.
As the setlist went on, consisting of the same songs as day 1, I was slowly losing my voice by the minute. But what really made me lose my voice was her surprise song. As the bottle spun in the center of the stage, a song was selected; “15 Minutes.” The audience erupted in excitement, including myself, and I screamed the whole song. Looking back at the footage I took of the concert, I can practically hear myself scream-singing over Sabrina Carpenter herself singing. It was really that good.
Gigi Hadid Juno Arrest

One of the many customs of the Short n’ Sweet Tour, Sabrina Carpenter “arrests” a fan in the crowd for being too hot and gives them pink fuzzy handcuffs, before playing her song “Juno.” On night one, however, we got a guest surprise from supermodel Gigi Hadid, who was “arrested.” It was so exciting and added to the momentum of the night. Even from the upper-level seats, I could make out Gigi Hadid at the front of the pit receiving the handcuffs and vibing to the music.

The Short And Sweet Style
From the trendy and appealing merch (a tad out of my personal price range), what fans were wearing, and the surprise outfits from Sabrina Carpenter, the styles at the Short and Sweet concert were impeccable.
If I had the budget, I would have definitely bought the whole merch stand. All, if not most, of the other concerts I had been to, the merch there was usually mediocre and overpriced. Typically, many artists will slap their face on a T-shirt and call it a day, giving it a price that a T-shirt probably shouldn’t be. And though the merch at Short and Sweet had these prices, it was creative and unique, unlike merch I’d seen before.
As to what fans were wearing, the stadium was filled with kiss tattoos, references to previous Sabrina Carpenter tour/ music video outfits, flowy nightgowns, bows, and sparkles. My personal favorite was seeing someone dressed as Sabrina from the Taste music video.
Lastly, my personal favorite outfits from Sabrina Carpenter herself would have to be the leopard body suit from day one, and the sparkly pink and silver outfit. There isn’t really anything else to say about why these outfits are my favorites, as it’s kinda self-explanatory from the photos. But regardless of whether or not people agree with my opinions, people can ultimately agree that her style is unmatchable and tasteful (reference ).
