Personal Rights vs Public Health

Personal+Rights+vs+Public+Health

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, many American citizens have insisted that mandates to wear a mask, socially distance, or get a vaccine undermine their civil liberty. In this drawing, a fist of protest pushes through a protective mask. I chose to use orange for the fist as a color weaker than red, which is often used to represent bravery and strength. The yellow background creates a sickly tone that represents the threat of the virus. The drawing encourages all citizens to think about how to deal with the pandemic–whether to follow science to alleviate the spread of COVID.
